NUREL participated in the 9th International Seminar on Biopolymers and Sustainable Composites, organised by AIMPLAS – Plastics Technology Centre, held on 4–5 March in Valencia. The event brought together experts, companies and technology centres to explore the latest advances in bioplastics and sustainable composites, as well as their role in the transition to a circular economy.

During the seminar, our colleague Giovanni presented several case studies focused on INZEA® biopolymers, developed by NUREL for applications requiring sustainable materials with high technical performance.

Biopolymers for a more circular agriculture

A key focus of the presentation was the role biopolymers can play in developing more sustainable and circular agricultural models.

In this context, INZEA®-based solutions enable the creation of soil-biodegradable materials for agricultural applications, helping prevent plastic waste accumulation and facilitating integration into the natural soil cycle.

Case studies in real crops

The session also featured case studies in crops such as peppers, maize, lettuce and tomatoes, where INZEA® biopolymers demonstrated their ability to improve the efficiency of specific agricultural practices.

Additionally, these solutions comply with EN 17033, the standard regulating biodegradable plastics for agricultural applications.
