09/05/2022

Betting on sustainability and circularity, NUREL has obtained the aid for research and experimental development in circular economy from the Government of Aragon thanks to the UPTextile project.

These grants seek to promote the implementation of business projects in Aragon, involving experimental development and / or industrial research on processes or products, with the aim of adapting them to the circular economy model.

Thus, NUREL is developing in the UPTextile project, the industrial research of a novel process of proprietary technology for recycling fabrics, which allows the valorization of textile waste that currently end up in the landfill, for applications of injection and extrusion of plastic materials.

With this, UPTextile’s main objective is to provide a comprehensive solution to the problem of recycling textile materials, reusing materials and transforming them into engineering polymers for applications with high added value and low environmental impact, contributing to improve sustainability and society.
