NUREL at Interpack 2026: shaping the future of sustainable packaging
14/05/2026
The Interpack 2026 international trade fair in Düsseldorf has come to a close, and the NUREL team returns with a clear message: the future of packaging is high-performance, circular and deeply innovative.
For seven days, Hall 9 – Booth E18 was a hub for brand owners, converters, and sustainability experts looking to solve the industry’s biggest challenge: how do we balance superior food protection with environmental responsibility?
If you couldn’t make it to the fair, here are the three major pillars of innovation we showcased this year.
1. High-performance materials: PROMYDE®
In the world of flexible packaging, performance is non-negotiable. Our PROMYDE® range of polyamides and copolyamides for packaging took centre stage, demonstrating why they remain the gold standard for demanding applications.
Deep-draw thermoforming: perfect for complex vacuum packaging.
Durability: exceptional puncture and tear resistance to reduce food waste.
Versatility: engineered to perform in the most technical multilayer structures.
2. Advanced barrier solutions: ENOXITE®
Sustainability does not have to come at the expense of a product’s lifespan. The ENOXITE® portfolio offers PVOH-based polymer solutions designed to protect sensitive products, whilst promoting the circular economy:
Improved recyclability: high-barrier polymers that facilitate the recycling of multilayer structures.
Functional specialities: including grades of water-soluble polymers and polymers designed to enhance water vapour permeability, for specific industrial applications.
3. The biopolymer revolution: INZEA®
Perhaps the most talked-about area of our booth was the INZEA® range. As the industry moves away from traditional plastics, NUREL is leading the way with certified compostable solutions.
Seaweed-based innovation: our 100% seaweed-based, plastic-free alternatives represent the 3rd generation of biopolymer technology.
Home and industrial compostability: closing the loop for applications like coffee capsules, fruit labels, and tea bags.
Soil-biodegradability: essential for agricultural and food-service applications where recovery is difficult.
“Interpack 2026 has been a milestone for NUREL. The interest in our seaweed-based polymers and materials for recyclable barrier films proves that the market is ready for a transition to truly circular materials.” — The NUREL Team
