XTRA-FRESH properties
- XTRA-FRESH yarns are free of nanomaterials (2011/696 / EU)
- Provides long-lasting protection against bacteria to the tissues, without altering the balance of the skin.
- XTRA-FRESH doesn’t protect the textile user against microbes, it only prevents the proliferation of bacteria in the fabric, which are the cause of bad odor.
- XTRA-FRESH fibers protect and keep fabrics odor-free for longer.
- XTRA-FRESH has been tested according to ISO 20743: “DIN EN ISO 20743: 2007, Textiles – Determination of antibacterial activity of antibacterial products”, International Organization for Standardization (2007). Equivalent to JIS L 1902: 2008.
- Complies with REACH, Oekotex and European Biocide legislation (European Regulation 28/2012).

How XTRA-FRESH works?
XTRA-FRESH technology prevents bacteria from colonizing the tissues but respects the skin’s natural bacteria. Its activity is limited to the surface of the fabric, keeping it free of bacteria and therefore free of odors.
Antibacterial additives are introduced during the yarn extrusion process, which allows their homogeneous incorporation into the textile polymer matrix, providing high efficiency and durability.
XTRA-FRESH nylon fibers are available in different cross-sections for extra comfort.

How XTRA-FRESH works?

Processing conditions
- To get the best out of XTRA-FRESH fibers, download our general processing conditions document.
- Weavers should follow these specific recommendations for scouring, bleaching, fixing and finishing.
- Fabrics containing our antimicrobacterial fibers perform best when their composition is 100% XTRA-FRESH yarn.
- XTRA-FRESH can be blended with other fibers. Although we recommend avoiding blends containing 15% > of non-antibacterial fibers.
- NUREL performs tests to analyze the antimicrobial activity performance of fabrics.
