IMPORTANCE OF MATERIALS FOR SMOKABLE CASINGS FOR FOOD

Casings used for smoked meats, cheeses, and other products must offer controlled permeability to smoke and water vapor, as seen in smokable sausage casings.

This precise porosity enhances flavor and color development while preserving freshness and maintaining the product’s original quality.

ENOXITE SMOKE®: GAS PERMEABILITY VALUES

To achieve the necessary smoke penetration in the production of smoked meat, a mixture of PA with 20-30% of Enoxite Smoke S20 or S30 is recommended. WVTR and OTR values for S20 mixed with PA6 on 20 and 30% concentration compared to 100% PA6 permeability are here shown. It is also possible to combine these products with copolyamides (discover our Promyde packaging portfolio).
