PROMYDE HSA AND SF PROMYDE GRADES FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE APPLICATIONS

Electric mobility currently accounts for 5% of automotive sales, but this figure is expected to rise to 40% by 2030. This implies that the need for a more sustainable mode of transportation with less environmental impact is a reality.

Transportation has changed the way we travel, and the materials used to manufacture means of transport have had to adapt to these new needs. Within this material engineered polymers used in mobility have to be adjusted to meet new standards and requirements and to meet new challenges.

At present, e-mobility has some important barriers that limit the growth of this type of vehicles, such as the risk of fire, the range of temperature range that the materials must withstand and the weight of the components that limit the autonomy of the vehicles.

Thus, the Promyde and Proxylene range of materials provides solutions for applications in electric car parts. HSA grades have been tested for 3000 hours at 180ºC and have retained the properties required for proper operation.

NUREL’s R&D department has been working for years on the development of engineered polymers for electric vehicles to provide a solution for these new requirements.

Demanding flame resistance levels of electric vehicle components must be achieved with materials that offer high performance and specific characteristics at the same time.

Thus, the absence of copper salts as a stabilizer helps to prevent corrosion problems and electrical failures that these types of parts usually suffer over time in the use of their final application in an environment with high temperatures.

The Promyde and Proxylene range features steel fiber reinforced grades that give the material an EMI magnetic shielding effect, (also V0 version) as well as electrical conductivity. Promyde grades are also provided for these applications, which have heat conductive properties that promote heat dissipation.
