Main advantages of promyde PA for THHN, THWN and TFFN cables
- Internal and external cabling: Promyde is suitable for both internal and external cabling, adapting to indoor and outdoor applications with different performance requirements, including high-pressure environments, extreme temperatures, and both static and dynamic mechanical conditions.
- UV protection: Cables with external polyamide jacketing exposed to natural light achieve greater durability with Promyde B33 L UV HS, certified under UL 83.
- Precise diameter: During the extrusion process, Promyde PA6 ensures consistent cable thickness, even in critical processes such as micro and millimetric extrusions.
- High thermal resistance: PA provides excellent thermal resistance, helping to prevent thermal deformation and enabling cables to perform effectively across a wide temperature range.
- Heat resistance properties: With a melting temperature of 220°C and excellent long-term performance at high temperatures, PA6 is a highly suitable choice for low-voltage cable jacketing.
- Flame-retardant properties: Promyde PA offers flame-retardant properties, helping to enhance cable safety in fire or high-temperature conditions.
- Reduced jacket thickness: Thanks to their excellent mechanical properties, Promyde PA6 grades for cable jacketing can be extruded with a thinner jacket while maintaining insulation performance. This enables more cables to fit within a conduit or allows for a higher copper content in a single cable.
- Flexible properties: Promyde PA6 provides the flexibility required for cables to bend and adapt to a wide range of installation scenarios while maintaining structural integrity, making it highly suitable for confined spaces and complex cable routing.
- Chemical resistance: The chemical and oil resistance of PA helps keep cable jackets protected and functional, even in chemically demanding environments.
- Self-lubricating properties: The self-lubricating properties of Promyde PA6 help facilitate cable installation, making the process simpler and more efficient.
Resistance in extreme conditions
- Tensile resistance at extreme temperatures.
- Thermal stability for optimum performance in motion and under temperature fluctuations.
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
- UV resistance, certified under UL 83.
PA cable jacketing applications
Telecommunications: PA-jacketed cables are commonly used in the telecommunications industry, providing robust protection for data transmission, fibre optic cables and more.
Automotive: In vehicles, PA cable jacketing plays a key role in ensuring the reliable operation of various electrical systems.
Industrial and construction: Industrial cables benefit from PA jacketing due to its resistance to aggressive chemicals, extreme temperatures and mechanical stresses.
