Barrier Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) trays and lids are designed to provide an extra level of protection for food products, such as fresh meat, by creating a controlled atmosphere within the packaging. This controlled atmosphere helps to extend the shelf life of the contents and maintain product quality.

Thermoformed MAP trays incorporate multilayer film structures, combining materials such as Enoxite and Promyde PA to achieve the desired mechanical and barrier properties. These films are designed to achieve high quality deep thermoforming and to prevent the ingress of oxygen and the escape of other gases, such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen, from the packaging. This controlled gas environment helps slow down the degradation of the food and inhibits the growth of spoilage microorganisms.

The films for lids, in addition to offering superior performance in terms of mechanical properties and gas barrier properties, also provide an excellent appearance, thanks to the outer layer of Promyde polyamide, with high transparency, gloss, and ease for printing.
