COFFEE CAPSULES
BIOPOLYMERS FOR COMPOSTABLE AND BIO-BASED COFFEE CAPSULES
Coffee capsules are very useful in everyday life, but they generate a difficult-to-manage waste. Often it ends up in landfill or contaminating the organic waste fraction. Combining the functionality of single-use capsules with environmental commitment is the solution proposed by our INZEA biopolymers, achieving a balance between functionality and sustainability.
The disposable coffee capsules produced with INZEA® can be composted together with organic waste, so both container and contents will eventually be reintegrated back into nature.
Disposable coffee capsules produced with INZEA® can be composted with organic waste, avoiding cleaning processes and water consumption, andat the end, will eventually be composted and reintegrated into nature.
INZEA grades offer different rigidity alternatives depending on the requirements of each customer, seeking optimum processing, the correct preservation of the coffee while perfectly maintaining its aroma and flavour, and adequate extraction in the machine. In addition, there are different degrees of fluidity to adapt to all types of processes: injection, co-injection or thermoforming, and it can be combined with other materials in multi-layer structures to increase the oxygen barrier.
WHAT IS INZEA
The world is changing and the plastics industry has to adapt to a new situation where sustainability is a priority for governments, businesses and consumers. INZEA® is our response to our customers’ demand for more sustainable plastic materials.
INZEA is a range of biopolymers which can replace traditional plastics in different applications such as bags, mono-use items and packaging, with the advantage of being biodegradable and compostable.
INZEA product range is obtained from renewable sources and is designed to return to nature by different disposal methods like industrial & home composting, or by biodegradation in different environments.
