COMPOSTABLE AND BIODEGRADABLE MATERIALS WITH THERMAL RESISTANCE
Thermal resistance is an essential requirement in a wide range of applications. Examples include coffee capsules, all types of food packaging subjected to thermal treatments, and tableware intended to be in contact with hot food, among others.
Although thermal resistance is not typically a defining property of biopolymers, the INZEA® range includes special grades with enhanced thermal resistance, suitable for the aforementioned applications, both for extrusion and injection. Notably, HT grades achieve this thermal resistance during processing, while HTS grades offer improved thermal resistance without the need for special processing or post-process crystallisation.
Technical specifications for thermal resistance
For extrusion processes, we offer INZEA grades with an HDT of 95°C. Our R&D department is continuously developing new products with higher HDT values.
For injection processes, INZEA offers a wide range of products with thermal resistance: HDT up to 100°C without the need for prior crystallisation (HTS grades), or HDT up to 150°C when using hot mould injection or post-injection crystallisation (HT grades).

Tea bags
Tea bags produced with INZEA® can be composted with organic waste, so both container and contents will eventually return to nature.
Coffee capsules
INZEA ® has grades suitable for the manufacture of coffee capsules that meet the required mechanical, thermal resistance and barrier requirements.
Catering materials
INZEA offers solutions for biodegradable and compostable cutlery, plates, cups and straws that replace those made from conventional plastics.
