COMPOSTABLE BIOPOLYMERS WITH THERMAL RESISTANCE
Thermal resistance is a prerequisite for a large number of applications. Examples include coffee capsules, all food packaging that will be subjected to heat treatment, kitchenware that will be in contact with hot food, etc.
Although heat resistance is not a property for which biopolymers stand out, within the INZEA® range there are special grades with improved heat resistance, suitable for the applications mentioned above, both for extrusion and injection moulding. These include HT grades, which acquire this heat resistance during manufacture, andHTS grades, which have improved heat resistance without special processing or post-process crystallisation.
Technical specifications for thermal resistance
For extrusion processes, INZEA grades with an HDT of 95°Care available. Our R&D department is developing more products with superior HDTs.
For injection moulding processes, INZEA has a wide range of products with thermal resistance: HDT up to 100ºC without prior crystallisation (HTS grades) or with HDT up to 150ºC performing hot mould injection or with crystallisation after injection (HT grades).

INZEA® offers biodegradable and compostable solutions for food contact trays for take away and cooked product packaging. Thermoformed trays, film-coated cellulose trays, paper-like and laminated trays can now be managed together with organic waste.
Tea bags produced with INZEA® can be composted with organic waste, so both container and contents will eventually return to nature.
