Nets and Fishing Gear
FISHING NETS AND FISHING TACKLE
Compostable fishing nets are a more sustainable option compared to conventional nets, as they are designed to naturally decompose in the environment.
Thanks to INZEA biopolymers, it is possible to obtain compostable fishing nets, depending on the required technical specifications. Compostable nets have the ability to decompose along with other organic materials in composting facilities, avoiding the accumulation of plastic waste.
It is important to note that compostable fishing nets may have different properties and durability compared to conventional nets. Therefore, it is essential to select the appropriate material for each fishing situation. NUREL’s R&D department has expertise in filament extrusion and can assist in designing compostable nets with the necessary strength and characteristics for their use.
FISHING TACKLE
During fishing activities, it is common for many fishing tackle and that the management of their waste after their useful life becomes complicated. In this regard, compostable biopolymers could offer a viable solution for various applications, such as:
Fishing lines
Fishing lines, known as fishing tackles, are made from materials that naturally decompose over time due to the action of microorganisms reducing environmental impact.
Hooks
Hooks are essential elements in fishing. . Some hooks can be made with INZEA biopolymers, maintaining the properties of conventional polymers but with the advantage that they decompose in the environment when worn out, avoiding residues.
Floats
Floats are used to indicate the location of the fishing line. Compostable floats are made from materials that naturally decompose, such as biodegradable bioplastics. These floats wear out over time and, thanks to the use of INZEA biopolymers, they biodegrade, minimizing the presence of microplastics in the environment.
Sinkers
Sinkers are used to keep the fishing line at the desired depth. Compostable sinkers are made from materials that decompose in the environment, such as reinforced INZEA compounds. These sinkers wear out and disintegrate over time, preventing harmful residues.
By using compostable fishing tackle, the impact on the environment is minimized.
WHAT IS INZEA
The world is changing and the plastics industry has to adapt to a new situation where sustainability is a priority for governments, businesses and consumers. INZEA® is our response to our customers’ demand for more sustainable plastic materials.
INZEA is a range of biopolymers which can replace traditional plastics in different applications such as bags, mono-use items and packaging, with the advantage of being biodegradable and compostable.
INZEA product range is obtained from renewable sources and is designed to return to nature by different disposal methods like industrial & home composting, or by biodegradation in different environments.
