ANTIVIRAL
BIODEGRADABLE AND COMPOSTABLE SOLUTIONS
INZEA® VI_SAFE is a biodegradable and compostable biopolymercontaining a naturally occurring active ingredient in the biopolymer matrix. This natural active ingredient acts on the virus envelope, causing it to lose its infectious capacity.
Surfaces, articles and packaging made of INZEA VI_SAFE have intrinsic VI_SAFE activity and high durability. INZEA VI_SAFE is suitable for injection moulding and extrusion applications.
INZEA VI-SAFE RESULTS
The results validate the virucidal action of INZEA VI_SAFE against a TGEV coronavirus:
INZEA VI_SAFE reduces virus infectivity by 98.76 ± 0.24% compared to the same untreated material after 4h of exposure and by 99.98% compared to the theoretical initial viral amount in the sample.
*Antiviral activity must be demonstrated on each final surface and final product.
FOOD CONTACT
Each film, structure or final part must be tested under ISO 21702 to ensure virucidal efficacy. NUREL is committed to perform this test in an independent laboratory through our approval procedure VI_SAFE.
WHAT IS INZEA
The world is changing and the plastics industry has to adapt to a new situation where sustainability is a priority for governments, businesses and consumers. INZEA® is our response to our customers’ demand for more sustainable plastic materials.
INZEA is a range of biopolymers which can replace traditional plastics in different applications such as bags, mono-use items and packaging, with the advantage of being biodegradable and compostable.
INZEA product range is obtained from renewable sources and is designed to return to nature by different disposal methods like industrial & home composting, or by biodegradation in different environments.
VI_SAFE VIRUS PROTECTION
CONTAGIO
La tasa de infección de la Covid 19 sólo puede explicarse a través de diferentes mecanismos de transmisión viral.
El Sars Cov-2 se contagia principalmente a través del aire pero también indirectamente a través del contacto con superficies.
VIRUS PERSISTENCE ON SURFACES
Do you know on which surface the Coronavirus remains the longest?
CAN A VIRUS BE DISABLED?
The infection rate of Covid 19 can only be explained through different mechanisms of viral transmission. Sars Cov-2 is mainly spread through the air but also indirectly through contact with surfaces.
HOW VI_SAFE WORKS
Our VI_SAFE technology incorporates a naturally occurring active ingredient that acts on the virus envelope, causing it to lose its infective capacity.
VI_SAFE inactivates the virus and prevents possible transmission by contact with infected surfaces.
APPROVAL
Antiviral activity must be demonstrated on each surface and final product placed on the market. Each film or final part must be tested to ISO 21702 to ensure virucidal efficacy.
NUREL undertakes to perform this task in an independent laboratory through our VI_SAFE approval procedure.
VI_SAFE EFFECTIVENESS
These results validate the virucidal action of INZEA VI_SAFE against a coronavirus with structural characteristics similar to SARS-CoV-2 (TGEV coronavirus). INZEA VI_SAFE reduce la infectividad en un 98,76 ± 0,24% * en comparación con el mismo material no tratado tras 4h de exposición y en un 99,986% respecto a la cantidad viral inicial en la muestra.
According to ISO 21702* Tested by the University of Valencia, Institute of Integrative Systems Biology (CSIC).
