BIOPOLYMERS FOR FLOW PACK PACKAGING
MATERIALS FOR COMPOSTABLE FLOW PACK PACKAGING
Among all the plastic products that are recycled each year, flexible packaging accounts for an increasing volume in the recycling loop. However, because the volume of plastic material used is smaller than in rigid packaging, its revaluation is less competitive, making composting an ideal alternative for the recovery of this type of structure.
For Flow Pack application , INZEA offers a wide range of biodegradable and compostable biopolymers with properties equivalent to conventional plastics, which give the final product transparency, rigidity, food contact, oxygen barrier or light barrier, as well as good performance in refrigeration and freezing.
Compostable biopolymers for rapid packaging
INZEA’s biopolymers serve as a replacement for conventional LDPE, HDPE or BOPP structures and can be processed in traditional single and multilayer film extrusion facilities, achieving oxygen transmission rates (OTR) similar to EVOH in combination with other materials by co-extrusion.
In addition, the final product can be biodegradable and compostable under both industrial and home composting conditions, provided that the finished product has obtained OK compost HOME and/or OK compost INDUSTRIAL certification.
INZEA applications for flow pack
Among the multiple applications of INZEA biopolymers for Flow pack, we can distinguish:
- Flow pack for fresh foods, such as fruits and vegetables
- Flow pack for dry foods, such as cookies, snacks, pasta or legumes
- Rapid packaging for hygiene products
- Rapid packaging for books, press, advertising, etc.
DISCLAIMER: A final product manufactured from certified raw materials does not automatically meet the specific requirements of each certification.
