Anaerobic digestion
BIODEGRADABLE BIOPOLYMERS IN OXYGEN ABSENCE
Anaerobic digestion is part of the organic waste management process and is widely used as a renewable energy source.
Anaerobic biodegradation occurs in oxygen deficient environmentssuch as landfills. This process produces biogas (methane), carbon dioxide and biomass. In modern landfills, this biogas is captured and can be used as green energy. In a second step, solid waste can be recovered as compost.
All INZEA® products can be disposed of as organic waste in an anaerobic digester, thus valorising the waste and reducing its environmental impact.
Specifically, INZEA FH17 is designed to be valorised in anaerobic digesters due to its high methane production compared to other biopolymers.
WHAT IS INZEA
The world is changing and the plastics industry has to adapt to a new situation where sustainability is a priority for governments, businesses and consumers. INZEA® is our response to our customers’ demand for more sustainable plastic materials.
INZEA is a range of biopolymers which can replace traditional plastics in different applications such as bags, mono-use items and packaging, with the advantage of being biodegradable and compostable.
INZEA product range is obtained from renewable sources and is designed to return to nature by different disposal methods like industrial & home composting, or by biodegradation in different environments.
APLICATIONS
Detergency and phytosanitary packaging
There are INZEA® grades suitable for phytosanitary and detergency applications, which have the advantage of being biodegradable at the end of their useful life, thus minimising the impact on the environment if not properly managed.
Face protection masks
INZEA® biopolymers are the perfect sustainable alternative for the development of biodegradable and compostable face masks. Our biopolymers can be processed in conventional spunbond plants.
Nappies
INZEA grades are suitable for the manufacture of biodegradable and compostable nappies, maintaining all the characteristics and safety of traditional products.
RELATED MARKETS
Food Market
INZEA® offers a wide range of compostable biopolymers for food packaging that can be processed on conventional blown film extrusion and flat sheet extrusion lines.
Cosmetics and Detergency
There are INZEA® grades suitable for the manufacture of natural cosmetic and detergent packaging, which have the advantage of being biodegradable at the end of their useful life, thus minimising the impact on the environment.
Filaments
Thanks to INZEA® biopolymers, articles such as netting, nets, straws or tea bags can be made from filaments that are composted at the end of their useful life.
Supermarket bags and supplies
INZEA® biopolymers are the sustainable alternative for the manufacture of biodegradable and compostable grocery bags and consumables.
